Why people upgrade
Most of the things you go looking for, you saw more than a week ago.
The flat you nearly rented, the recipe from a Sunday in March, the jacket that sold out in your size. Free forgets them after 7 days. Pro doesn't.
- Find it months later
- Choose how long to keep things, up to forever. A year of browsing takes about 2 to 3 GB, and you can keep pictures longer than headlines if you like.
- Find it on any computer
- See it on your work laptop, search for it at home. Each computer saves what it sees and they share it through your own cloud storage, encrypted before it leaves.
- Find the words in pictures
- Pro reads the text in screenshots, posters, menus and signs, on your computer, so “wifi password” finds the photo of the router sticker.
- Keep it if you stop
- Cancel any time. Nothing you've saved is deleted, and it all stays searchable on your computer.
Pro adds an account, not a window into your history
Your account knows your email address. It never knows what you browse.
The account is there so your subscription works on every computer without codes to copy, and so your settings follow you. Your history doesn't go through it: each computer encrypts what it saved with a passphrase only you know and sends it straight to your own Google Drive or OneDrive. It never passes through our server, and we couldn't read it if it did.
- What your account holds
- Your email address. A scrambled password if you use one, or the Google, Microsoft or Apple account you signed in with. Whether Pro is paid. Your preferences, like which kinds of things to save, which categories to skip and how long to keep them.
- What it never holds
- Your history, pages, addresses, page titles, pictures or searches. Any sites you've listed by name, or your collections. Which cloud storage you use, your passphrase or your keys. Your IP address is never kept with your account.
- Your synced history
- In your own storage, encrypted on your computer first. We can't read it, and neither can Google or Microsoft.
- Your payment
- Paddle sells Pro for us and handles your card. We see whether your subscription is paid, never your card.
- Leaving
- Delete your account from Settings. Your subscription stops renewing and runs to the end of the period you've paid for, every computer is signed out, and your email and settings are erased. Your history stays on your computer and in your storage, because it was never ours.

- Do I need an account for Free?
- No. Free works on its own and nothing leaves your computer. An account comes with Pro: make it when you get Pro, and the checkout opens straight after.
- Is there a free trial of Pro?
- No. Free is the trial: it keeps saving for as long as you use it, with the last 7 days kept. Pro adds keeping things as long as you like, the words in pictures, and your history on all your computers.
- What happens if I stop paying for Pro?
- Nothing is deleted. On the day Pro ends, sync between your computers and searching on this website stop, with no grace period. Each computer keeps everything it has, but saves nothing new until you subscribe again, or until you switch to Free, which keeps the last 7 days. Before then, "Copy everything to this computer" in Settings puts your whole history on a computer, and you can download it as a .zip; we email you when you cancel and 3 days before it ends. The encrypted copy in your Google Drive stays yours, and sync picks it up again if you come back.
- Can you see my history if I sync?
- No. It's encrypted on your computer with your passphrase before it goes to your storage, and it never goes to us. If you forget the passphrase, the recovery key you saved at setup opens it. We can't.
- What if I cancel?
- Your saved history stays on your computer and stays searchable. Your copy in Google Drive or OneDrive is yours to keep or delete.
- Does it work with iCloud?
- Not yet. Google Drive and OneDrive work today, and iCloud is coming later.
